Directory85 is a relatively new venture which has been created by The K9 Group (a division of
K9 Web Design) in order to provide a human edited, quality based web directory.
Tired of the usual problems that human edited directories can bring, The K9 Group have decided that Directory85 will provide most websites (those which do not contain objectionable content) with a directory listing, three deeplinks to the page(s) of their choice and allow SEO valid links (which don't go through any kind of redirect script).
Submitting your site costs $5 to cover the short time required to manually review your website, though Directory85 make no guarantees that sites will be added within a specific time-frame, or at all.
However, websites which are added will be reviewed by a human being, usually within 24 hours of submission.
Link Points Explained
Sites are positioned in Directory85 within specific categories, with the order determined based upon Link Points. Link Points are awarded by Directory85 editors for a number of factors, including:
- Website Quality - marked out of 100, with some objective (Google PageRank; Alexa Ranking; Number of Backlinks) and some subjective (quality of design, useability/usefulness; fitness for genre/category) factors. This number is not publicly accessible, but will change from time-to-time.
- Additional link points are added for design, navigability and ease of using your website or application.
The One website with the most Link Points will receive a link from every page of Directory85.
The Ten websites with the most Link Points will be linked from our homepage.
The same is true for sites within category and sub-category pages.
